On Thursday, July 21st, 2005 , His Excellency Ambassador Catarino hosted a  meeting at the Portuguese Embassy to discuss next steps in the Project SAT:  SAT II in Portuguese Languague.

Because of the importance and impact this test would have on advancement of education and the Portuguese language, Ambassador Catarino called upon Comunidade dos Países de Língua Portuguesa (CPLP) to participate.  Dr. Loiello, associate of the  Fundação Luso-Americana para o Desenvolvimento (FLAD) addressed both members of CPLP and also members of Congress:  Congressman  Barney Frank (D–MA), Congressman Devin Nunes (R-CA), Congressman Patrick Kennedy (D-RI); Congressman Dennis Cardoza (D-CA) and Congressman Jim Costa (D-CA).  There were ambassadors and representatives of Moçambique, Timor-Leste, Brazil, Angola and Cabo Verde.

Associates of FLAD will be meeting with members of the College Board in New York at the end of this month.  Efforts are being made on behalf of the CPLP, members of the Portuguese American Caucus, FLAD and PALCUS to ensure that the College Board will reconsider their earlier decision.
