Meet some of the 2005 PALCUS Summer Interns!

 

 

Stephanie Aragão

Stephanie Aragão is currently studying at George Washington University in Washington, DC.  Her ongoing internship with PALCUS has enabled her to utilize her communications studies' background.  Her experience in the workforce have proved to be a tremendous asset to the daily operations and future goals of PALCUS.

Jesse Correia

            Jesse Correia, a junior at the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth is double majoring in Political Science and Portuguese with an emphasis on International Relations.  Jesse will be interning at the New Bedford, MA Portuguese Consulate and will gain great exposure to International Relations, in particular Portugal and US affairs.

Lisa Coutinho

Lisa Coutinho, a junior at the University of Pennsylvania, has been given the honor of interning at FLAD (Luso-American Development Foundation) in Lisbon Portugal.  Lisa is currently majoring in Economics and by working at FLAD Lisa hopes to gain knowledge of emerging markets and the grand scheme of foreign affairs.

Linda Nico

Linda Nico, a college junior at the University of Rhode island, has been placed at the offices of both the Portuguese and East Timor Embassies.  Her internship, coupled with a B.A. in Political Science, should lead Ms. Nico to her goal of “[strengthening her] ethnic and civic pride, but also find a balance between the two….”.

Francisco Vieira

Francisco Vieira, a junior from the University of Tampa, is now working at the national office of PALCUS in Washington, D.C.  With a major in  English, Francisco is helping construct some emerging programs and organizing new angles for the internship program. Francisco plans on gaining the necessary experience to open his own consulting firm.

Marta Silva

Marta Silva, a junior at Marymount Manhattan College, is now working at the consulate of Newark, New Jersey.  Marta will be undergoing her summer internship at the Newark, NJ Portuguese Consulate.  Marta is currently majoring in International Affairs and she hopes to learn all she can about the intricacies of Portuguese governmental system so she can some day improve Portugal’s economic state.
