Interning in Washington, D.C.:
Ms. Jacqueline Duque is a recent graduate from Elon College in North Carolina, where she majored in Journalism and Communications (emphasis in Corporate Communication). Her family lives in Odenton, Maryland, though her mother was born and raised in Lisbon and her father is first generation Portuguese-American. Jacqueline is currently interning in the office of Congressman Patrick Kennedy of Rhode island.
Ms. Patricia Romano is a recent graduate from Stonehill College in Massachusetts, where she majored in International Studies. Her family lives in Peabody, Massachusetts, though both her parents were born in Portugal. Patricia is currently interning in the office of Conressman Barney Frank of Massachusetts
Ms. Jennifer Soares will begin her Senior year at the University of San Diego in the Fall of 2000, majoring in Liberal Studies and History. Her family lives in Los Banos, California and her father is full Portuguese. Jenny is currently interning in the office of Congressman Brian Bilbray of California.
Interning at Consulate Office:
Ms. Isabel Valente is a recent graduate from Rutgers College at Rutgers University, where she majored in Portuguese and English, as well as receiving her certificate in International Studies. Her family lives in Elizabeth, New Jersey and both her parents were born in Portugal. Isabel is currently interning at the Portuguese Consulate in New York City.
Interning in Portugal:
Mr. Marc Valadao will begin his Junior year at Georgetown University in the fall of 2000 where he is studying International Relations. Both of his parents immigrated from to the United States from the Azores. Marc is currently interning at the Luso-American Development Foundation (FLAD) in Lisbon, Portugal.
Ms. Jill Robinson is a recent graduate from the University of Oregon, where she majored in Anthropology. Her family lives in Winton, California and her mother is full Portuguese. Jill is currently interning at the Luso-American Development Foundation (FLAD) in Lisbon, Portugal.
Ms. Monica Spohr is a graduate student at the University of the Pacific. She received her BA in Business Relations. She lives in Palo Alto, California and both her grandparents are from mainland Portugal. Monica is currently interning at the U.S. Embassy, Commercial Attache in Lisbon, Portugal
