Portuguese Organization:

Pearl of the Sea

A fabulous Portuguese restaurant has now re-located to one of the most popular and growing areas at the Jersey Shore ... Long Branch. Pearl of the Sea, a fine family-style restaurant is dedicated to bringing their customers authentic Portuguese specialities. second to none!

Owned by Julio Almeida and his wife, Maria with their son Vinnie (who manages the dining room) go all out to make sure their customers receive special attention. Pearl of the Sea resembles one of the Portuguese restaurants you might find in the popular Iron Bound section of Newark where Julio worked for years.

In the culinary field for over thirty years, Julio was employed at hotels and restaurants in Portugal until he came to America. He is especially creative with seafood and other typical Portuguese entrees.

Among his favorites are Paella, Mariscada and Codfish, prepared several ways.

Julio, goes to great lengths with all his preparations putting love and care into everything he creates. He cuts his own potatoes, such as his outstanding French Fries, and makes his own sauces for his meals and mariscada. All of the fish and vegetables are purchased daily, so that he can guarantee only the freshest of various entrees to his customers. The bread, also fresh daily, comes from Newark.

In their comfortable and relaxing dining room, tables are clothed in burgandy, surrounded with ebony chairs creating an uplifting ambiance. With their recently acquired liquor license they now offer numerous great wines from their extensive wine list.

Featuring imported wines from Chile, Spain, France, Italy and Portugal, plus several types of domestic wines. A must try is their Sangria... one of the best around!

Pearl of the Sea is a family oriented restaurant, where you can inexpensively treat your family and friends. Portions are large, so bring your appetite. The entire Almeida family invites you to Pearl of the Sea for a memorable dining experience.
